Introducing Bob Langley
Let me tell you about Bob Langley.
The History
Over the course of the last 15 years I have had the great pleasure of working with some amazing people. Incredibly intelligent and equally talented individuals. Some of these people challenged me to be a better developer/ professional and others have pushed me to be a better person. These experiences have made me the individual I am today. One of those individuals has had the greatest impact on me as a person and my career; Bob Langley.
A little over three years I was working with a phemon of a team at the Walz Group. (Leo Portillo, Jimmie Houts, and Damon Bruce to name a few). We experienced a ton of growth over that year and rounded off the team with a developer named Bob Langley.
Bob came to us with minimal experience in web technologies and .NET, though after three months you wouldn't have known it. From the moment he walked in the door on his first day he exploded onto the team!
About 6 months into sitting next to Bob at Walz, we finally got the opportunity to collaborate. Unfortunately, it was on a Death March however it set us up to become a little bit of a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skunk_Works.
For about 4 months time we worked side by side with cutting edge technologies (at the time) like NServiceBus and RavenDb. All the while geeking out on every little aspect of systems development.
And as my wife puts it, "And the http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Bromance began!"
Who is Bob
I have never met a developer who has the ability to verbally articulate complex technical problems with preciseness and competence better than Bob. Bob has continually inspired me to push myself and my career to a whole new level. Always challenging technology, always listening to those around him, and all around "Sharing the Stoke"!
With a deep passion for software development, constantly thinking outside the box. I have witnessed Bob lay down some incredibly amazing code over the past couple of years. His uncanny ability to consume concepts and ideas and leverage them in new and amazing ways is awe-inspiring.
The past couple of years I have drug Bob with me into new opportunities all the while in somewhat of a selfish manner since working with him has been nothing short of shear awesomeness!
It is my great pleasure to introduce to all of you, Bob Langley
Why Flapstack?
Well, there are several reasons why we are taking up this tiny corner of the web. Primarily, it is a way for us to continue to collaborate and push the technology and the ecosystem surrounding it. Also, we feel like we have something to say and more importantly something to share. It is a growth opportunity and at the very core, it all about one thing;
Sharing the Stoke!
So hopefully, you will engage in our silliness, call us out when we're wrong, and simply enjoy the ride with us!
